T'Was The Night Before Beta

BACK

T'was the night before beta, and all through the house
Not a gamer was stirring, not even their mouse
The e-mails were checked every minute with care
In hopes that St. Webmaster would soon be there
The gamers were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of destruction danced in their heads
And Aurelias in his 'kerchief and Csaj in his hat

Had just settled down for a long bug-fixer nap
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
Csaj sprang from his comp to see what was the matter.
Away to the window he flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of lasers to objects aglow,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature ship, and eight laser-reindeer,

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, blow it to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of names, and St. Webmaster too.
And then, in a tinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each rather large hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Webmaster came with a bound.

And filled four hundreds of stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his ship, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"HAPPY BETA TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT."

(Sorry folks, it had to be done)
