For the beta testing community (as could be expected by the signup questions) there will be a Ventrilo server for that community to coordinate on, and there will be the in game chat and e-mail systems that all the beta testers will be able to use. As well as the in game bug and suggestion reporting system which we will go over with the testers.

I have not put much thought outside of the forums toward a chat system for the fan community as a whole. But you just changed that =). I'll look into it.
